A Night Of Play

A Night Of Play is a monthly play reading event that ran from Dec 2018 - Dec 2019 in Brooklyn, New York. We describe A Night of Play as a play reading party; complete with a night of short play readings and board games. Each month A Night of Play features four playwrights and their brand new work. The plays are written just for the event and are all based on a theme set for the month.  Our goal is to bring new works to the forefront, creating and fostering a supportive and diverse community of theatre artists. We strive to show the importance of new stories being told and new stories being loved.

Over the course of a year we worked with over 30 playwrights and upwards of 70 actors. A Night of Play was an event for everyone. It gave writers a space to play and practice their craft, it encouraged new writers to try for the first time in a safe space, and it created a fun and enjoyable networking opportunity for any artist interested in participating or attending.
